Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

i was involved in a divorce that ended up not being finalized. I got a final bill, then apparently they took it to court for non-payment. Then i got an e-mail stating that there was a mistake and the collections case had been dismissed. 2 1/2 years later i am being contacted again telling me there was no error and i still owe the balance. Do i have any kind of legal recourse since i had been told a year ago that it was dismissed due to an error?
