Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How do you get a divorce when a spouse refuses to sign anything

My husband left me a over a year ago and returned to Canada (his homeland) but says he will not sign any divorce papers, (I know his address). We had no children, no property etc. I just want a divorce. He didn't work (no green card/visa) for the 3 years we were married and lived in TX. We were married in Canada. Can I get a divorce without him 'agreeing'? I am a US citizen, he is Canadian.

Thanks

You would file for divorce in the county you live in.

If you live in the Houston area, you can call me or email me and I'll give you my prices.

Of course you can. The fact that he is in Canada only increases the time and aggravation factor, adds some expense. Hire a lawyer, he/she will know what to do. Take care, TCL
