Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

divorce

I am currently thinking about getting to my husband who is from New Zealand. The problem is we started a corporation, which is in my name because he did not have a green card.......we have also accumulated approx. 30,000 in debt, which also is all in my name. He has threatened that if I divorce him he will be on the first flight back to New Zealand and leave me with everything, the debt, the company all and what ever other bills he has acquired in my name. I want to know my legal options to this situation, including on how to get the corporation out of my name and just giving it to him....and if he does fly out to New Zealand am I responsible for everything because it is in my name? I would appreciate any advice I could have ........thank you soo much.

Re: divorce

I am unclear as to whether the debt is the debt of the corporation or your personal debt. If it is the debt of the corporation, then you may consider filing BK. However, to be clear this is only so if the debts you speak of were incured by the corporation. If you have any additional questions please feel free to give me a call.
