I am divorced and want custody of my kids. My ex is willing to give me custody. What paperwork do I need to file? Do I need a lawyer or can I do this by myself?

There's no law that says you have to hire a lawyer to do an agreed motion for modification, but you probably should.
You will file a motion for modification, and get your ex to sign off on it. You will then set a final hearing and take it before the Judge.
