Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

after being divorced for 5 yrs both me and my ex have moved and moved on...but now with a new man in her life the divorce papers and my rights as a father are being questioned. We have both moved and our papers do not cover what happens specifically with who picks up and who drops off.Do i need to go back to court? If i have to go to court to have it redefined how do i know which county to file in? Do i file where the child resides or where i reside?

The simpliest thing to do is to sit down with an attorney and go over your paperwork. You would file where the child lives.

Take a certified copy of the current court orders and sit down with an experienced family law attorney. Learn your legal rights. You will feel better and you will understand what is going on.

Now that she has a "new man" in her life these sort of things happen all the time!

You are still the dad of this kid & you need to be involved in the child's life. An experienced attorney can assist you in what you need to do.

If your ex is not "behaving" contempt might be the way to go to give her a "wake up call".

It's worth a couple of hundred dollars to get on the right track.

Look on this website for an attorney or try www.avvo.com for an attorney in your area.

Good luck!
