Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my 17 yr old stepdaughter was recently removed out of her home in tx due to her being sexually abused and she has been sent to me n her father n LA. The grandmother will not giver her any of her personal belongings such as birth cert. ss card, shot records and some other very important stuff. Not interested in clothes or such. how can i go by trying to recieve this stuff.

Is there a court order giving your husband custody? Is there some document from the Texas authorities?

Duplicates can be gotten from the proper agencies. She should know who her doctor was. I can tell you who to see in Louisiana (eg. the Parish Health Unit can help with Louisiana Birth Certificates) but don't know the names of the agencies if they're in Texas or another state.
