At 18 you are an adult, and can do what you want, that does not violate any laws.

At 17, IF there are no court orders regarding your residence, and you leave home, you are not considered a runaway; as long as you notify your parents and/or local police of your address you are not considered a missing person. You are still a minor, however, and cannot enter into any contracts, i.e. apartment leases.
