Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My father died almost 3 weeks ago. He was legally married to his husband earlier this year. I found out that his ashes are ready but can only be obtained by his husband. I also found out yesterday that his husband went to jail 4 days ago and was charged with 5 counts of probation violation. My fathers family disowned him and his kids when he came out as gay. The husbands family is in denial and aren't willing to help. My dads son and his wife are staying in the house my dad and his partner used to live in. There is no electric and rent is past due. I am worried they will lose everything but they refuse to give me anything. I cant just show up there because the son is on probation and cant be anywhere near the daughters. (I'm 26 and my sister is 22) I feel like I am entitled to the family pictures and things of sentimental value. I want nothing of cash value but the son insists that he is the one who gets everything. What can I do?

You may have to file a case in the probate court. Get a consultation with a good probate attorney in your area and see if they have give you some advice.
