Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My father passed away and my mother gave me some of his guns. I made her angry and sShe has decided she wants them back. Where do i stand legally? Am I the legal owner of the property or am I required to return them?

A gift is a gift. Just say "no."

The question of who owns the guns may be a Court case, if she sues you for conversion. For now, the guns are in your possession, and are presumed to be yours.

It would be nice if some third party had been present when she gave you the guns: "Here, Rodney, I want you to have your Dad's guns. Take them home with you."
