forced to pay child support

My girlfriend had a baby by another man and I adopted the baby. If we split up would she be able to get child support from me?

Generally, when you adopt a child, the biological father's parental rights are termination and you step into the place (legally and financially) of the biological father. Therefore, if you and your girlfriend split up, you may be financially responsible for the child.
