Do I have to hire a lawyer to legally change my 18 yr old daughters last name to mine and her stepfathers last name? Or can I file papers myself? Thank you.

She is an adult so she can do it herself. I would hire an attorney because it is a multi-step process since 911. Contact an attorney in your county. Please don't buy a kit off the internet - they are worthless in the State of Texas. Good luck!
