Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband left me for another woman last week. He now wants to see my 10yr old son for the week. His new girlfriend is from out of town and I'm worried that if I let him have him for a week he won't bring him back. Neither of us have contacted attorneys. Do I have to let him see my son? And what happens if he does take him and then refuses to bring him back?

Do you have to let him see him? No

What happens if he takes him and refuses to bring hm back? There is nothing you can do since there are no court orders. You will have to file for divorce and ask a judge to return the child to you. But since you voluntarily surrendered the child, you might not get the child back.

You need to talk to an attorney immediately!

Based on your zip code - call attorney Patricia Bushman at 713-807-9405. Her first appointment is free and she takes payment plans.

I rent space in her office.

I only mediate these days.
