Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Too late to pursue child support?
I have been trying to locate the father of my child for the past 12 years in order to establish paternity for child support. Originially, the AG's office in Texas informed me that he had been located in Colorado and a court date was set but then the father disappeared. This has happened several times. Each time he is located, he then disappears. My child is nearing the age of 18 and I have recently located the father in Colorado. Can I hire a lawyer to help pursue child support or is it too late since my child will be 18 within 6 months.
Thanks

Re: Too late to pursue child support?
Do it NOW!.
You need to file in Colorado if that is where you live.
You might want to hire a private attorney to get this done quicker.
Good luck!
