Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

What are the laws concerning a 16 year old male that wants to be emancipated, quit school, get his GED so he can work while going to trade school?

To even begin to qualify for emancipation the child has to be self-supporting. I'm fairly sure this young man is not going to qualify but he should talk to a good family law attorney.
