Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex and I have a morality clause in our child custody papers. We were never married. I now want to live with my fianc but my ex won't sign off on the morality clause. Will a informal marriage overrule the morality clause? My lawyer says it will but I wanted a second opinion just to make sure.

Yes. An informal marriage will overrule the morality clause. Just note that if your ex sues you for enforcement of the morality clause AND you go to court and convince the judge that you have an informal marriage, you will have to get a divorce when you and your new "spouse" split up. You can't be married for one purpose and not for all other purposes.
