Re: motion to dissolve protective order

You can go to your local law library and ask the staff for help finding the correct format and language for the motion to terminate the protective order and the order for such. Once the motion is in correct form go to your district clerk's office with the original and at least 2 copies and file the motion with a copy of the original protective order attached. Go to the court with jurisdiction over the case (the one that issued the order) and ask the court coordinator to schedule a hearing date for you. Mail a file stamped copy (copy of copy is ok), and a copy of the order setting hearing to each party of record or their attorney by certified mail return, receipt requested. On the day of the hearing bring the correctly formatted order with you ready for the judge to sign. Be prepared to offer testimony sufficient to convince the court that the protective order should be lifted. The preferred alternative is to take your favorite neighborhood attorney some cash and sit back and watch the magic happen.
