Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have notified my x-husband numerous times regarding his half of my son's unreimbursed medical expenses. Our divorce decree requires a 50/50 split or unreimbursed medical. I carry all health, dental and vision insurance on our son. He now owes me over $1,000 and has made no effort to pay. Is there anything I can do through the State of Texas to collect this or do I have to hire an attorney to pursue? I have sent via mail and hand delivered all receipts with a running total of the bill and what is owed. The medical has been prescriptions, doctor visits and braces.

The Attorney General won't help you collect this. It's not part of their mission.

You can file the suit yourself (without a lawyer) but it's not advisable.
