Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Nursing Home Alzheimer's Patient 'Sells' House

My husband's mother, an alzheimer's patient at a local nursing home, owned a house, a small amount of acerage, and a producing chicken house. As she is a widow, and unable to care for herself, she's been confined to this nursing home since November of last year. She barely knows any of us when we go in to see her.

Today my husband's brother informed us that he 'bought' her place. Under the circumstances, we don't feel that she was capable of selling a house or anything else.

We were not informed of this 'sale' prior to it. Only afterwards.

We feel that this wasn't quite right; as we should have been notified because we are a part of this family as well.

Please advise as to what we can do.

Thanks,

Re: Nursing Home Alzheimer's Patient 'Sells' House

You will have to file a legal action to contest the title to the property and for examination of the "sale" between the mother and your husband's brother. Call me if you wish to discuss my assistance for your in this matter.
