Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

overseas travel

I am a remarried father with sole custody of my 7 year old son. There are no geographic restrictions. My ex is allowed phone contact and visitation. She has not excercised her visits or phone calls and no letters or birthday/Christmas recognition for the past 14 months. I am currently stationed in Italy with the US Army. My exwife is remarried to a soldier. They are moving to Germany in December. If my exwife chooses to visit our son once she gets to Germany, knowing that he will need a passport to leave Italy to go through other countries to get to Germany to see her, will I have to let him go? And what about the passport? Goodness knows she does not keep up with important things like that!

Re: overseas travel

Just to be on the safe side, you should consider petitioning for a modification to restrict travel by his mother during visitation. Since she has shown little interest, she might agree to the change.
