paternity testing

The man who i thought was my babys father may not be. he is not on the babys birth certificate. does he have any rights to my child without a paternity test? Also, does he have the option to set up a paternity test and doI have to follow through with it?

If he chooses to file suit to establish paternity and parental rights and obligations, then you have to deal with the lawsuit. The court will require you to cooperate with a test. It is merely a mouth swab.
