Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Do I pay child support even after I have given up ALL rights?

Do you still have to pay monthly child support even if you have given up the rights to the child?

If a court has signed termination papers you are still accountable for past due child support from the time prior to the termination but there is no current support due. If your rights have been terminated you should have or you should get a copy of the court order. It will spell everything out. Until you see the documents, I would suggest you assume that child support is due. I have read some cases where people signed termination documents that were never submitted to the court and we sued for back support years down the road. Hire a lawyer to investigate the matter.
