Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

privacy law

My husbands exwifes atty. is going after him for back child support. Her atty went to my bank and got all the information that is just in my name and they gave it to her atty without my knowledge and no court order. Is this legal and where can I go to pull up the law regarding the privacy act if not.

Re: privacy law

If your bank gave up your separate bank account information, then your bank may potentially be liable. Additionally, if this bank account is used to deposit money that your husband earns, then his ex-wife's attorney is allowed to access that account to compute the proper amount for any ordered support. If my law firm can assist you with this legal matter or any other legal issue, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
