Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My question is... My ex husband made purchases of about $3,500.00 on a credit card in my name and hasn't made the payments on it. He was an authorized user on my acct. But he made the purchases after the divorce was final. Is he responsible for these purchases?? Or is there anything I can do about this since it was done after the divorce was finalized?? I didn't know he had done this until he tried to have the address changed on the acct. and the credit card company sent out a letter asking if I had requested the address change.

Your ex should be responsible for the charges. (There is potential criminal liability for your husband, depending on the facts.)

You should consult a local attorney to consider options available to you.

Good Luck!

Based on what you have written, your ex is probably responsible for the charges. Additionally, you may want to consider (dependent upon the specific language in your decree) taking action against your ex for the charges. You should consult with a local law firm to ensure that you are protecting your rights and interests.
