Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Our SAPCR gives the maternal grandmother the mother's weekend visitation while the mother is required to have supervised visitation. Does that make the grandmother a party to the lawsuit? The last lawsuit the mother filed was found frivolous and she is required to pay us almost 18K before she can take us back to court again. She is trying to take us back to court but we think the mother and grandmother are trying to file the new lawsuit through the grandmother (or together - we're not sure yet) to avoid paying the fees. We went to mediation today and at the advice of our attorney we would not agree to let the grandmother participate in mediation because she is not a party to the lawsuit. It seems now that that may have not been necessary but was it at least correct or is the grandmother a party to the lawsuit?

You have an attorney representing you. He knows all the facts in the case. Listen to your attorney. If you don't trust your attorney then take your entire file to another attorney and get a second opinion. In order to give an opinion, an attorney really needs to read the orders from the judge.
