Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I'm a single father of 2 daughters. I have custody of my 13 yrold but my exwife has the right to determine my 11yrolds residency, by our divorce decree in march 2011! My youngest came to live with me about 2wks after the decree was signed, and they have rarely even heard from their mom since! I need custody of my 11yrold most important, but now I also need help going for some child support, contempt of court for unpaid balances in mediated settlement, & tax help! For the 2nd year in a row she wrongly filed dependant deductions on her tax return! This has held my tax return up even though I know the irs will get it straight sooner or later! What do I do and is there an estimated cost to hire an attorney??

Plan to bring the lawyer at least $2,500.00 in advance.

You want to file a motion to modify the order. The circumstances which gave rise to the order have changed, and it makes sense now for the court to change the order.

You file the motion, get Mom served, and then wait for her to react. Which she will.
