Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I'm a single mom, I have 4 kids; ages 12,14,17,and 21 and 2 grandkids living with me. My 17 years old daughter; who's gradudated this year, a year early. She has a 2 month old baby boy. She has been breaking house rules and curfew. She doesn't help around the house or cleans her own room. When I tell her to do something or don't allow her to do something; she threatens to leave. Can she leave? Is she considered an adult?

The short answer is yes, she can leave. Although she is not legally an adult until she is 18; once a child turns 17 she is no longer chargeable as a runaway. In Texas, in most cases, juvenile law applies only to persons under the age of 17. Runaway is solely a juvenile offense.
