Texas Registry for Aids Carriers
I just found out that my 17 mo. old daughter, whom I just won custody of, was exposed daily to an Uncle who I personally saw kiss on her hands, lips and cheek--the Uncle has full-blown aids. The mother of my child knew this and kept this information from me.
I'm concerned about the health of my child, but also that she and her entire family may have endangered her life. I'm having tests ran. What actions can I take to keep my child away from the Uncle and possibly against my childs mother for keeping this information from me?

You can go to court and ask the Judge to order that the Uncle not exchange any bodily fluids (semen, vomit, blood and saliva) with the child.

AIDS has become a disease that can be managed.

You definately need to read up on how AIDS is spread.For example, kisses on the cheek won't spread it.

Of course, as the former AIDS Project Coordinator for Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, I'm much more knowledgeable than most.

Also, 2 of my good friends have been full blown AIDS for over 15 years and both work full-time and you'd never know that either of them are ill.

Both were a very big part of my child's life and I can assure you that she and I don't have AIDS.

There is no AIDS registry in the US.
