Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am going threw a divorce and I do not have the means to obtain a lawyer. My husband said I have 2 choices. To sign the papers he drew up and have them notarized and sent back to him or to show up for court on Nov. 2 which is less then 2 weeks away. He informed me of these things on Oct. 21. The papers state I do not want a name change, but I do want a name change and I want him to pay for it. I paid for the orginal name change and didn't want to change my name then either. Are those really my only 2 options? Can he not have those papers changed for me to be permitted a name change and it be covered by the cost of court fees or divorce fees or something?? Also I am currently living in Tennessee and he is living in Texas where we got married and where he filed.
