Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

VA Certificate

My ex-wife and I bought a house using my Veteran's Affairs Certificate. When we got divorced my attorney did not make sure to put in the paperwork that she would refinance the house so I could get this back. It was also my mistake but I did not think to do this either. My ex wife has missed some payments on the house damaging my credit. Is there any way to now force her to refi the house so that I can receive my VA certificate back and get my name off of the mortgage and note? There is also a van that we bought that the loan was not covered in the divorce papers either. Is there any way to force her to take my name off of that as well?

Re: VA Certificate

It sounds like she has bad credit. I doubt that any company will re-finance her.

You can ask but no court can force a 3rd party creditor to give her a loan.

Go and talk to your attorney.

I can't tell where you live since you did not include a zip code.

If it's in the Houston area, you can call me or PATRICIA BUSHMAN for help.
