Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am in a visitation battle with my exboyfriend. My daughter is under one year old and hasnt had much contact with him. He has been abusive towards me in the past and the attorney general is aware of it. The problem is that I never reported the abuse and im worried that his lawyer will use that against me. He also has a letter from his exgirlfriend stating what a good dad he is and that she is understanding that he hasnt payed her child support for the past couple of years. He has a suspended liscence because of the two dwi's he receive a couple of years ago( not including the felony charge he got prior) and has still picked his daughter up when he sees fit. I want to know how someone could get "fathers rights" eventhough he is seeking visitation for his own selfish reasons.

Without knowing all the facts, to answer your question, one would have to speculate in many areas. Attorneys are reluctant in doing this. My advise to you is to contact an attorney in your area.
