Legal Question in Medical Leave in Texas

Terminated while on Maternity leave

I was hired on pregnant by Bealls. I was employed there for 3 months before I went on maternity leave. I was notified I would be terminated in the system but my position and pay would be held until I could return. When my child was 10 days old, the GM called and said I was terminated and position will not be held. Is there a possibility that I could have a case because they hired me on pregnant and there are clear cut intentions they were to keep my position for me until I got back? I know since I was only employed for 3 months FMLA doesn't apply but there has to be something else for my protection.

Re: Terminated while on Maternity leave

Bealls may have violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, both of which prohibit discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions.

I would be glad to discuss this with you further if you have additional questions.
