Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I was caught on camera doing voids on register. They employer threatened me and had me sign a confession that I will pay money based on the evidence they have. But they never saw me stealing money directly from the cash register. The only footage they have is for one week where i was doing voids which amounted to seven hundred dollars. I have been their employee for four years so they want 80 thousand dollars based on the voids i did in that week. Can they sue me in court? Will I be held liable to pay that amount?

You "signed a confession" and NOW you ask for legal help. Why in the world would you sign a confession?

You have made a very unwise choice, and now there will be consequences.

As for the $80,000: just say no. Even at this late date, you can start standing up for yourself.

Yes, they can sue you for any amount they want to make up, but it sounds as if they would never be able to prove $80,000 in a court.
