Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

my children were playing outside in OUR back yard. my neighbors dog happen to come into my yard. My pitbull protects my son. She happen to see the dog in our yard and of course attacked the dog..So now our neighbors are wanted to put her down and they want to pursue a civil action...Do they have a case? What can we do?

rport to your home owner's insurance ..that should cover any damages...and it is sad but all one can claim for lost pets are the market value plus vet bills..however, most insurers and the law would award nothing.....as an owner of pit bulls and other dogs..hopefully no person is injured by one..
