Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I have a civil lawsuit question...

My boyfriends mother's neighbor (and very close friend) said significantly awful things about me to him after we recently stopped renting his moms upstairs and moved out. She told him I would either kill him in his sleep (specifically with a knife) if he stayed with me or he would likely commit suicide if he left me. The other things she told him was that I was mentally ill and could never be "fixed", she said I was unintelligent and it would never change, she said I will never know any more people than I know now and will be alone forever eventually, said i was addicted to people (i dont know what that means), said I crave abuse, and finished with saying I have no opportunities for growth.

These accusations and insults have caused sleeping troubles and general depression since I found out about them. Most of all it has caused feelings of uneasyness and feelings of being under attack for me and my boyfriend. I do not know the woman or her husband at all. They also told my boyfriend to smash my cell phone and that they would provide a sledgehammer to do so.

I would like to know if this falls under any kind of slander or harassment because all of what she said is entirely made up and based off nothing and has caused a great deal of pain. Is this something that could be pursued in any kind of civil court scenario? I feel personally attacked and I don't know what to do about it.

Thank you!
