Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Divorce Settlement

I was awarded a divorce in late August. I was awarded child support ($700) and a large fishing boat. My ex wants to take me to court to get out of paying the child support and his friend has sent me a affidavit to sign that says the court made a mistake and the boat was never ours but was his friends. I am afraid to sign the affidavit because it makes me sound like I committed perjury. I was willing to let my ex have the boat just to get him out of my life, but now both he and his friend are trying to drag me back into court. I do not have money to hire an attorney and fight them, but do not want it to look like I committed perjury either. Should I sign the affidavit? Should I give up child support?

Re: Divorce Settlement

Read the affidavit. I think it says something like "I swear that the following statement is true and correct". If the statement following that language is true and correct, sign the affidavit. If the statement is not true, don't sign the affidavit.
