Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Is there a way I can find out if my sister received money from our mothers malpr

In 1998 my mother passed, my mother has five kids we were suing the nursing home where my mother resided for 3 days.

We had a lawyer and he told our older sister that he would not talk to her about the case unless all my mother kids were present. So we all met with that lawyer and talked about the case. A couple of months later my sister had switched lawyers and did not confirm us of the switch.

So my brother somehow talked with the new lawyer and the new lawyer told my brother he could not discuss the case with him because my sister stated that she was the only child. So when we contacted her about switching the lawyers she tells us that it was not a case and she did not want to talk about it. Since then she has remodeled her home, bought a new car and two houses. Her husband sister even stated that she really received the money but she tells us her husband bought and remodeled everything.

We need help in this situation!

You can find out about the case status fairly easily by going ot the county court house where it was filed. If it has been settled or otherwise resolved without your consent, you shuld contact a lawyer to find out what your rights are.

It's a mess and you need a lawyer to straighten it out. You'll probably end up suing your sister, but you'll need to proceed with your first attorney to represent you and your other three siblings. Remember, the nursing home has only settled with your sister.

However, if the settlement cut everyone else out, then the attorney that settled for your sister had best have malpractice insurance.
