Invasion of personnel belongings

A family member went into my room and took some pictures and then tore them up. Well that family member does not live where i live and did not have permission or consent to go into my room.Can i do anything about that in the court of law?

Bringing charges for criminal tresspass may be an option, as well as a civil action for conversion.
