Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

Citizenship

My question is regarding my citizenship proof. I was born in Mexico to an American father. I have my birth certificate that states so. I used to use a U.S. passport to cross the border until it came time to renew it when I was told it was no longer necessary and I could cross the border by simply stating my U.S. citizenship. I had been doing this till now. I am no longer able to do this due to new laws. And my passport is too old to renew. If anyone can help, please let me know what documents I need to continue my travels to the neighboring Mexican cities and how I can obtain them.

Re: Citizenship

Visit a practicing attorney for a small fee. It is better for you to get a certificate of citizenship in addition to a new passport. Your old passport and birth certificate may do that for you. Be careful so that that you will not be deported by mistake.
