If you are married to a U.S. Citizen and entered the country with a visa, you would be eligible to file for a green card through your spouse. The green card would give you authorization to work. While you are waiting for your green card application to get adjudicated, you are eligible to file for a work permit. You should consult with an immigration attorney to go over your options. Please feel free to contact me at 415-273-9123 or [email protected] to discuss this matter further.
