Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

I have a neighbor who came to the US as a child and served in Vietnam with an honorable discharge. He has since had some mental problems. His green card has lapsed and he has some minor criminal charges as well as a sexual offense that requires him to register as a sex offender. If I apply for SSI or any kind of public benefits for him, will I just get him kicked out of the country??

Being kicked out of the country depends on the nature of the crimes for which he was convictions not the criminal charges. Not registering as a sex offenser might be a huge problem. However, if you care much about the person, see a Pactising Immigration Attorney with the full detials of the criminal records including the charging document and the plea papers for a particularized legal opinion that is specific to the person.
