another driver on someone's else's vehicle

I have a truck that a friend wants to take up notes & leave in my name, the friend says he will put full coverage insurance on truck & supply me /c info so that if he gets a ticket it will go on his ins, is it legal & will insurance pay if truck is wrecked

i do not recommend this approach for you for a number of reasons:

1. should your friend have an accident and for some reason has not kept the coverage current he will default on the payments and leave you responsible for the note and a damaged vehicle'

2. should your friend cause an accident and injure someone you may face legal liability as the owner.

3. you may be violating terms of your loan agreement with your finance company by this arrangement and cause you to be in default.

i believe the best procedure for this transaction is for you friend to purchase the vehicle outright and transfer title to the vehicle in his name.
