Deceased Co-Writer
Back in the early eighties my wife (at the time) and I wrote about 50 pop and c&w songs. None of these songs where ever published or even copyrighted. She died in a car accident in 1997.
Do I have to get a release from her husband at the time of her death or anyone (for that matter) to enter into a contract with a publisher and continue to credit her name for her contribution.

You do if you want to avoid being sued by someone that inherited her rights to that material. You may have to decide which ones you did together or separately, but I'm sure she told people about her work, especially her family. My firm is focused on Internet, media and entertainment law.
