Lottery Win

If a person won a lottery or sweepstakes, how would they go about finding a reputable attorney, accountant and financial advisor? Also, should an affidavit received when winning such prize be overlooked by an attorney before signing and submitting?

If you won a large lottery prize, you should look for an attorney who is used to dealing with wealthy individuals. For instance, you might want to meet with an estate planning attorney or tax attorney. You may need an attorney to help you with your financial plans. But, you also may want an attorney who is willing to be your gatekeeper. Once the word gets out that you won a lottery, you may find long lost "friends" and "relatives" on your doorstep.

When you choose an attorney look for someone who seems to know what they are talking about and who is trustworthy.
