Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Hello, I have a question about requesting vacation. I have been employed at the same office for 4 and 1/2 years and have 2 weeks of vacation accrued. When I requested to take the full 2 weeks at once for a big trip, my COO refused to let me off for the period of time saying that if it was a honeymoon it would be different. I was told by a co-worker that it is illegal for her to refuse my vacation request just because its not a honeymoon. In our handbook its doesn't not state anything about can not take your full two weeks that is accrued at one time.

Employers frequently limit how much time employees can take in a single continuous vacation period but give greater flexibility for special occasions such as honeymoons, family medical situations, etc. Employers are not allowed to set policies that discriminate on an unlawful basis or permit discretion to supervisors who in turn use that discretion to discriminate on an unlawful basis. Your coworker is incorrect. Not taking a honeymoon is not an unlawful basis to decline granting you an extended vacation.
