Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

references

I had a job interview that went great until the prospective employer spoke with my former supervisor. Later, I found out that the supervisor has been telling lies to the prospective employer. What legal options do I have? Is there a time limitation to take legal action, if applicable? Thanks.
