Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Retainer Fee Guidelines

I hired an attorney to represent me in a possible EEOC Discrimination Suit. The retainer was $5000. I have since dropped the effort and the attorney has deducted approx $500 in fees leaving $4500. Is is customary to have the remaining retainer returned to me? The agreement I signed does not spell it out.

Yes it is customary to have the unused portion of a retainer returned to you. You may need to request it in writing.
