will the pay be the same?

I have been working for the same place for 2 years now. I was promoted as supervisor 5 months ago. I have since demoted myself due to the stress of it. My ? is....I was paid $8.50 as regular employee and as employee supervisor, I was paid $10.00 an hour......after I demoted myself....am I still legally able to keep my $10.00 an hour only as--name removed--regular employee?
