Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Foreclosure and renters

We came home to our house, which we rent (with a valid lease). There was a note on the door to call a realtor ASAP. We did to discover that the house has foreclosed, and she wants us out NOW. We have a lease that is not up until July of this year, signed in July of last year. Can we still legally live in the house until July, if we pay the rent to the mortgage holder? We had no idea the house was going into foreclosure, and have paid the rent on time every month.

Re: Foreclosure and renters

They have to give you thirty days written notice under the property code. After that, you will have to leave. Its up to the owner if they will let you stay beyond that.
