Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Landlord

I was wondering my landlord who owns the house sent me a text message stating thta i cant come back to the house, which is fine but all of my stuff is in there and it has now been three days and she is refusing to give my stuff back untill I pay back a loan so to speak, my job requires me to wear a suit and tie that are in the house as well. Can she do that and how can I go about getting my stuff back. If she can't do that can I give a friend written consent to go get my stuff?

Re: Landlord

A loan? Or rent? If the landlord does not have a judgment of eviction, you cannot be forced out of your home. The landlord can change the locks, but has to leave notice where a new key can be immediately retrieved. You may have grounds for a wrongful eviction, and should get a lawyer.
