Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Is it tenant's duty to maintain the lawn?

I am a tenant in 1970's house. The contract ends in end of march, 2004. The landlord lives in Cal.US. So, all of the things have to be dealt with the realtor. Well, in beginning of Jan. the realtor sent us a letter. They want to see all of the receits for the purchase of lawn-care items. And told us to fix everything that is related to the lawn. If not we have to forfeit part of our deposit money. So, We looked at the contract, and they did put something relating to the lawn-care. Which says it's our duty.

My question is that, some people told us that lawn care is not tenant's responsability. Well, is it?

Thank you.

You need to read your lease. All of your obligations should be addressed there.
